The TOA DA-500F-HLCU is a four-channel Class D digital power amplifier engineered for professional installed sound applications where high efficiency, compact rack footprint, and precise per-channel control are non-negotiable. At 2U, it outputs 500W per channel into 70V distributed lines or 550W into 8 ohms, and supports bridged operation at 1000W per channel into a 140V line, making it well-suited for large venue distributed audio, commercial paging systems, and multi-zone background music installations.

What sets this amplifier apart from conventional rack amps in its class is the Control/Monitor terminal architecture. Each channel features independent photocoupler-based power ON/OFF control and status monitoring for power state, protection events, and fan operation over a single RJ-45 connection using standard CAT5 cable up to 600 meters. This allows system integrators and AV control programmers to build fully supervised amplifier networks without proprietary control infrastructure. A front-panel HPF switch and per-channel mode switching add flexibility for multi-zone tuning without external DSP.

The switching power supply and Class D amplification keep power consumption in check while sustaining high output across all four channels simultaneously. Protection circuits guard against overload, short circuit, DC offset, and thermal events at both the amplifier and power supply heat sinks.
