The TOA ER-2230W is a 30-watt shoulder-type megaphone designed for public safety personnel, emergency responders, event production crews, and facility managers who need reliable, long-range voice amplification in outdoor or semi-exposed environments. With a rated output of 30 W and a maximum output of 45 W, it delivers intelligible speech to approximately 800 meters and whistle signals to approximately 1000 meters, making it a practical choice for crowd management, evacuation coordination, and large outdoor event direction.
What sets the ER-2230W apart from standard handheld megaphones is its shoulder-carry design, which reduces operator fatigue during extended use, and its newly developed polyimide film diaphragm that maintains sound quality at high output levels. The unit accepts an external microphone via a 6.3 mm phone jack, and an auxiliary input with independent volume control allows connection of a tape player or radio. A 12 V DC external power cord is included as an alternative to the internal battery pack, giving operators flexibility in the field. Battery life reaches approximately 17 hours for voice use under JEITA test conditions.
The ER-2230W is compatible with the optional ST-16A speaker stand for fixed or semi-permanent installations, and the optional DM-series microphones expand input capability. A splash-proof cover is included to provide basic environmental protection. The LED battery meter doubles as a power indicator, providing clear status feedback during active deployment.
