Its bandpass enclosure design handles crossover filtering internally, so the installer avoids bi-amplified signal chains and the associated wiring overhead. The included 60W 70/100V transformer supports standard commercial distributed audio infrastructure, while the 8-ohm bypass accommodates electronic crossovers and dedicated low-impedance amplifiers when the project calls for greater output control.
The subwoofer is purpose-built for acoustically demanding commercial spaces such as restaurants, retail environments, lounges, and conference rooms where program material ranges from background music to video content requiring full-range reproduction. Paired with TOA F-Series ceiling speakers, the FB-3862CU-AM completes a coherent full-spectrum system from a single product family, simplifying specification and procurement. The UL2043 and UL1480A certifications make it eligible for plenum and fire-rated ceiling installations, a requirement that eliminates alternative products in many commercial projects.
Installation hardware is included: two steel support rings, two steel support rails, and two speaker hole templates get the unit into a ceiling without sourcing supplemental hardware. The Phoenix-type input terminal accepts up to 12AWG stranded cable with parallel outputs, reducing the junction hardware needed at each drop in a multi-speaker run.
