The TOA HX-5 is a compact 2-way passive array speaker engineered for installations where reverberation and background noise are primary obstacles to speech and music intelligibility. Each module combines a 12 cm cone-type low-frequency driver with a cluster of balanced dome tweeters, and the system's variable directivity design lets engineers dial in horizontal coverage to suit the room rather than compensating at the console. With four selectable dispersion angles, a single enclosure can serve a narrow seated area requiring tight control or a wider listening zone that needs broader coverage, making it a practical choice for houses of worship, lecture halls, convention centers, transportation terminals, and other acoustically demanding indoor venues.
The HX-5 is designed for permanent and semi-permanent indoor installations. Its bass-reflex enclosure, Speakon NL4MP loop-through input terminals, and stackable chassis support clean cable management and scalable arrays of up to four units. The polypropylene enclosure keeps weight manageable for ceiling, wall, or bracket mounting, and included hanging hardware gets the cabinet in position without additional accessory orders for most installs. Optional matching transformers and a full range of manufacturer-supplied mounting brackets give integrators the flexibility to adapt the system to virtually any architectural constraint. The HX-5 is available in black and white finishes to suit different installation environments.
