The TOA IR-802PA is an all-in-one infrared wireless classroom audio system assembled to address the specific acoustic and logistical demands of K-12 and higher-education environments. The kit pairs the IR-802T desktop tuner with the IR-820SP ceiling speaker, an IR pendant microphone, a battery charger, and a rechargeable battery pack, eliminating the guesswork of component matching. Designed educators and AV integrators working in standard-sized classrooms, the system handles both teacher amplification and student participation without requiring a separate rack or additional amplification hardware.
The IR-820SP ceiling speaker integrates a 20-watt Class D amplifier and a 360-degree infrared receiver directly into the enclosure, simplifying installation to a single CAT-5 cable run from the tuner. Its wide-dispersion acoustic structure distributes speech uniformly across a 30-foot by 30-foot coverage area, eliminating the hot spots and dead zones common in installations relying on conventional directional speakers. The IR-802T tuner provides three AUX inputs for PC, DVD/TV, and MP3 sources, an ALD mixing output for assistive listening devices, and automatic muting via 25-volt telephone paging signals, making it compatible with existing school intercom infrastructure.
The included IR-310M pendant microphone operates hands-free or handheld, runs approximately eight hours per charge, and features two sensitivity levels and a function button for paging control. Because the system uses infrared rather than RF transmission, it is inherently immune to radio-frequency interference from adjacent wireless systems, a practical advantage in multi-classroom deployments.
