The TOA M-800DT-AM is a Dante expansion module designed for integrators and audio engineers deploying the M-8080D DSP matrix mixer in installed sound environments. It plugs directly into the M-8080D and draws power from the host unit, adding 8 Dante input and 8 Dante output channels without requiring an external power supply or additional rack space. By enabling audio over IP networking, the module allows up to 16 M-8080D units to operate as a single coordinated system, scaling the installation to as many as 192 inputs and outputs.
This module is built for facilities where AV infrastructure runs on existing IT networks. It supports all standard IP network configurations and includes redundancy support, making it suitable for broadcast facilities, large-venue installs, houses of worship, and campus-wide distributed audio systems where network reliability is critical. Compatibility with the Dante ecosystem means it integrates with the broad range of Dante-enabled consoles, amplifiers, and processors already deployed in professional AV workflows.
For installations requiring shielded cabling, all connections between the M-8080D and RD ports must use shielded Category 5 or higher cables with shielded connectors, and a network router is required for system setup. The RGMII/MII network interface and TDM/I2S audio format support ensure clean, low-latency signal transmission across the network without compromise to audio integrity.
