The TOA M-800RM-AM is a dedicated tabletop remote paging microphone designed exclusively for integration with the TOA M-8080D digital mixer and paging system. Intended for commercial and installed audio environments such as corporate lobbies, healthcare facilities, transportation hubs, and campus PA systems, it gives operators direct control over paging destinations without requiring access to the central rack unit. The RD port passes AES3 digital audio and control data over a shielded Category 5 or higher cable, keeping the signal path clean across longer runs typical of installed systems.
Where generic paging stations offer limited feedback or manual zone selection, the M-800RM-AM provides an LCD screen that displays device ID, volume level, and selected zone, reducing operator error in complex multi-zone deployments. The unidirectional electret condenser gooseneck microphone captures speech clearly in acoustically mixed environments, while status and communication indicator LEDs give real-time confirmation of signal presence and channel activity. A USB port allows custom chime files in WAV or MP3 format to be loaded directly onto the unit, enabling site-specific attention tones without additional hardware.
Power is supplied entirely through the RD port connection to the M-8080D or M-804EX, eliminating the need for a separate power supply at the operator position. The surface-treated steel enclosure is built for permanent desk or counter installation. Note that a network router is required for M-8080D system setup, and all RD port connections must use shielded Category 5 cables or higher with shielded connectors.
