The TOA N-8640DS is an outdoor IP door station designed for professional intercom installations in commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. Using packet audio technology over standard LAN or WAN infrastructure, it enables high-quality hands-free communication with the TOA IP Intercom Exchange or an IP multifunctional master station. It also integrates with Multi Interface units via the network, making it suitable for scalable, distributed intercom architectures.

For system integrators, the N-8640DS delivers the control I/O density needed for real access control applications: one contact input for sensor connections and five control outputs including one relay contact output rated for up to 500 mA, covering door strikes, indicators, and external devices. An external speaker terminal supports 8-ohm passive loudspeakers when additional coverage is required at the entry point. Power is sourced via IEEE 802.3af PoE, eliminating dedicated power runs, with the AD-1215P AC adapter available as a backup option.

The stainless steel SUS304 hairline-finish faceplate and IP65 dust and water protection rating make the N-8640DS appropriate for demanding outdoor environments where weather exposure and vandal resistance are primary concerns. Flush-mount and surface-mount installation options, along with compatibility with 3-gang electrical boxes, the YS-13A wall-mount box, and the YC-150 back box, give integrators flexibility across new construction and retrofit applications.
