The TOA N-8650DS is an indoor IP door station designed for integration with the N-8000 Series IP Intercom Exchange or IP multifunctional master stations over LAN or WAN infrastructure. It uses packet audio technology to deliver high-quality, hands-free voice communication between entry points and control stations, making it a practical choice for corporate facilities, educational campuses, healthcare environments, and secured access points in installed AV and security systems.

For system integrators, the N-8650DS offers meaningful I/O flexibility. One control input accepts no-voltage make contact signals from external sensors, while five control outputs, including four open-collector channels and one relay contact channel, allow connection to indicators, door strikes, or other peripheral devices. An external speaker terminal rated at 0.5 W into 8 ohms extends audio to adjacent areas without additional amplification hardware. The unit supports flush-mount or surface-mount installation and is powered via IEEE 802.3af PoE, with an optional AC adapter for non-PoE environments.

On the network side, the N-8650DS operates over 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX with TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, HTTP, and multicast support. Voice encoding uses Sub-band ADPCM with selectable sampling rates and configurable audio delay, giving system designers control over latency and bandwidth tradeoffs. The compact ABS resin enclosure is rated for operation from -10 degrees C to +50 degrees C, suiting it for a wide range of indoor installation conditions.
