The TOA Q-SS9012PS is a 12-zone speaker selector designed for installed commercial audio and paging systems. It operates alongside the TOA M-9000M2 Series mixer amplifiers or compatible paging equipment, giving system designers precise zone-level control over how two amplified inputs are distributed across up to 12 speaker outputs. Each zone is activated independently via dry contact closure, making it straightforward to integrate with building management systems, fire alarm panels, or third-party control systems without requiring active voltage at the control input.
In commercial install environments such as retail, hospitality, corporate, or campus facilities, the Q-SS9012PS solves the common challenge of overlaying paging onto background music without manual intervention. Each zone can be switched from the BGM amplifier input to the paging amplifier input and back, triggered automatically by a contact closure signal. This architecture supports zone-by-zone paging with no crosstalk between areas and no need for separate relay hardware at each speaker location. The unit handles up to 250W per channel on 70V and 100V distributed lines, covering large-scale installations with high speaker counts.
Installation is simplified by removable terminal blocks on all speaker and control connections, and an LED indicator on each zone gives technicians immediate visual confirmation of zone status during commissioning or troubleshooting. The included AD-246 AC adapter provides the required 24V DC supply. Optional rack mount and wall mount brackets are available separately, and an interface board enables direct integration with the Q-RM9012PS remote module when ordering both units together.
