The TOA TU-651M is a 50W compression driver unit engineered for high-intelligibility public address and mass notification systems operating on 70V or 100V distributed lines. It is designed for system integrators and AV installers specifying outdoor or semi-exposed PA coverage in transportation hubs, campuses, sports facilities, stadiums, and industrial environments where weather resistance is a non-negotiable requirement.
The TU-651M pairs with compatible TOA horns to form a complete driver-horn assembly suited to long-throw directional coverage. The selectable input impedance function on the high-impedance model allows technicians to match line loading from the exterior without disassembly, simplifying multi-tap distributed system configuration. The unit ships ready to thread onto standard 1-3/8 18 UNC horn couplings, and its powder-coated aluminum flange, ABS rear cover, and stainless steel hardware contribute to IP65 certification when installed with a compatible horn.
Where comparable compression drivers in this class require additional sealing measures for outdoor deployment, the TU-651M delivers a factory-certified IP65 rating as part of its standard construction. An operating temperature range covering -20 degrees C to +55 degrees C makes it viable for installations in cold climates or high-heat environments without derating. The optional UC-200A driver unit cover provides additional protection for installations requiring a fully enclosed driver assembly.
