The Universal Audio Apollo x16D is built for live sound engineers and networked recording studios that demand professional-grade conversion, scalable Dante routing, and real-time UAD plug-in processing in a single rack space. Its HEXA Core DSP — the most powerful onboard processing system Universal Audio offers — lets engineers run over 200 UAD plug-ins from Neve, SSL, API, Teletronix, and Auto-Tune at near-zero latency without taxing the host CPU, whether at front-of-house or inside a control room.

With 16 channels of bidirectional Dante I/O via dual RJ45 ports and full AES67 compatibility, the Apollo x16D connects directly to digital mixing consoles and Dante-enabled stagebox systems, eliminating the need for separate audio networking hardware. Up to four units can be linked for a 64-channel Dante system with network redundancy, and Apollo e1x and e2m peripherals extend coverage over Power-over-Ethernet for complete stage rigs. Thunderbolt 3 connectivity keeps sessions running natively with DAWs including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, and Ableton Live.

Back in the studio, the Apollo x16D functions as a full immersive monitoring hub supporting formats up to 9.1.6 — Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, and Sony 360 Reality Audio — with Apollo Monitor Correction powered by Sonarworks for calibrated playback in any room. The Apollo x16D ships with either the UAD Analog Classics or UAD Complete plug-in bundle, giving engineers a production-ready toolkit from day one without additional licensing costs.
