The VOLT876 is built for recording engineers, producers, and studio integrators who need high-channel-count analog preamp performance in a single rack unit. Eight digitally-controlled preamps each carry individually selectable Vintage mode circuitry inspired by UA's 610 tube console, paired with onboard 76 Compressors drawn from the 1176 limiter lineage. Assistive Auto-Gain accelerates gain staging, and all front-panel settings can be saved and recalled through the UAD Console companion app, making session recall practical in busy studio environments.
Up to 16 channels of ADAT digital I/O or stereo S/PDIF provide integration with outboard converters, digital stagebox systems, and ADAT-equipped gear from other manufacturers. Dual headphone outputs with independent volume controls and an ALT monitor output support flexible cue and control room routing without external hardware. For larger session needs, up to three VOLT876 units can be linked for 24 simultaneous analog preamp channels, making the interface scalable for mid-size tracking rooms or hybrid studio builds that also incorporate Apollo hardware.
Class-compliant USB 2.0 operation supports Mac, PC, iPad, and iPhone, while a Windows driver unlocks full functionality through UA Connect. Word clock BNC I/O ensures tight synchronization in multi-device setups. The included UAD plug-in collection, covering compressors, channel strips, reverb, and synthesis, delivers production-ready processing without additional software investment. For any studio operator prioritizing analog character, session control, and room to grow, the VOLT876 offers a direct path from tracking to mix-ready results.
