Its CMR (Communications Riser) NEC rating satisfies riser-space installation requirements without the cost of plenum-rated cable, making it the practical choice for most commercial and institutional AV installs.

With a 100% aluminum polyester foil shield plus a 24 AWG tinned copper drain wire, this cable delivers the interference rejection required for clean line-level audio in electrically noisy environments such as conference rooms, classrooms, houses of worship, and retail audio systems. Twisted-pair construction further reduces susceptibility to induced noise across long runs. ASTM tinned copper conductors resist oxidation over the life of the installation, preserving low-resistance continuity on permanent runs where re-termination is not practical.

Polypropylene insulation and a PVC outer jacket provide the physical durability expected in a permanently installed cable. Supplied on a 500-foot spool, the 452BK0500 is sized for mid-scale projects where a full 1,000-foot spool would create waste, giving integrators better material efficiency on single-zone or multi-drop installations.
