The Yamaha RM-WDR is a cardioid directional boundary microphone designed for the RM Series wireless conferencing ecosystem, targeting AV integrators and systems engineers building scalable room audio solutions. Operating on the 1.9 GHz DECT band with AES 256-bit encryption, it pairs with the RM Series access point to deliver interference-resistant performance in dense corporate, government, and higher-education environments where RF congestion is a constant concern.

Unlike USB or analog boundary mics that require per-room cabling runs, the RM Series architecture connects via a single PoE+ network cable to an access point that supports up to 16 simultaneous microphone channels. Dante network audio integration allows the system to feed directly into Dante-enabled DSPs, amplifiers, and recording interfaces without additional analog infrastructure. The Web UI Setup Wizard simplifies microphone pairing, audio routing, and system management, reducing commissioning time on multi-room deployments.

With a rechargeable Li-ion battery delivering approximately 20 hours of talk time and a dedicated charging station option, the RM-WDR suits high-utilization boardrooms and huddle spaces that operate across full business days without a battery swap. The LED mute button and battery level indicator give presenters and facilitators clear visual feedback at the table, reducing support calls during live meetings. Multiple microphone form factors are available within the RM Series family, allowing integrators to mix gooseneck and boundary configurations within the same system to match any room layout.
