SoundPro is now an authorized Powersoft dealer, and the amplifier line we're leading with is Unica, Powersoft's third-generation platform built around a completely redesigned input and output section for the highest signal-to-noise ratio Powersoft has ever shipped. As a cloud amplifier platform, what makes Unica worth a closer look isn't just the sound quality, it's that every model in the line, from a classroom-sized 2-channel unit to a touring-ready 20,000W monster, shares the same cloud connectivity and control-system integration. Here's what's actually in the lineup and where each model fits.

What Makes Unica Different

Most install amplifiers ask you to choose between power density, network connectivity, and remote monitoring, picking up a compromise somewhere along the way. Unica's pitch is that you don't have to. Every model packs high power density and Power Sharing technology into a compact 1RU footprint, with Dante and AES67 networking built in alongside cloud native connectivity through Powersoft's MyUniverso platform.

Power Sharing is worth calling out specifically: each output channel can deliver up to twice its rated power when the load is asymmetric, which means you can match power to an uneven speaker layout without buying extra channels just to cover the loudest zone in the room.

"The question we used to get was 'which amp has the features I need.' With Unica, the question changes to 'which size do I need,' because the feature set doesn't change from the smallest model to the largest."

The Unica Lineup: 4L, 8M, and T Series

Three product families cover the range from single-classroom installs to full touring rigs.

Powersoft UNICA 4L 4-Channel Cloud-based Amplifier Platform
Featured Gear — 4-Channel Install
Powersoft UNICA 4L 4-Channel Amplifier Platform (5K4 / 9K4 / 12K4 / 16K4)

Four models scaling from 5,000W to 16,000W total, all in the same compact chassis. The 4-channel format fits most single-room and small-venue installs where you need Dante networking and cloud monitoring without paying for channels you won't use.

Powersoft UNICA 8M 8-Channel Cloud-based Amp Platform
Featured Gear — 8-Channel Install
Powersoft UNICA 8M 8-Channel Amp Platform (1K8 / 2K8 / 4K8 / 8K8)

The 8-channel family for multi-zone installs, like a sanctuary with a main system plus overflow and lobby zones, or a school running several classrooms off one rack. Same Power Sharing and cloud connectivity as the 4L line, doubled up on channel count for larger, more complex jobs.

Powersoft UNICA T Touring Amplifier Platform (4T|20K4 / 8T|10K8)

The touring-focused variant of the platform, available in a 4-channel 20,000W configuration or an 8-channel 10,000W configuration. Built for live sound and touring rigs that need the same networking and monitoring as the install line, packaged for life on the road.

MyUniverso Cloud and Control System Integration

Day-to-day operation happens locally through Powersoft's ArmóniaPlus software over three Gigabit Ethernet ports, with native Dante and AES67 support. MyUniverso adds a layer on top of that: remote monitoring, project storage, and firmware updates from any device, without needing to be on-site. It's worth noting that the cloud layer adds visibility and convenience rather than being a requirement, day-to-day operation still works locally if a building's internet connection has a bad day.

For integrators already committed to a control platform, Unica includes native third-party communication for Q-SYS, Symetrix, and Crestron, plus a dedicated Q-SYS plugin for deeper integration. If your rig is Dante-based and this is your first networked amplifier, our guide to Dante audio covers the fundamentals. If you're speccing a full control ecosystem rather than just an amplifier, our loudspeaker management systems guide and guide to Yamaha's AV control ecosystem cover how a networked amp like Unica fits alongside a DSP and building-wide control.

Easy Swap keeps service calls short. If a unit ever needs to be replaced, Unica's Easy Swap feature lets a technician reconfigure a new amplifier from a USB backup in minutes, rather than reprogramming a system from scratch on-site.

Choosing a Model by Project Type

Project Type Recommended Family
Single classroom or small conference room UNICA 4L (5K4 or 9K4)
Multi-zone sanctuary (main + overflow + lobby) UNICA 8M
Campus-wide or district-wide classroom rollout Multiple UNICA 4L or 8M units, managed centrally via MyUniverso
Touring rig or live sound rental inventory UNICA T Series (4T|20K4 or 8T|10K8)

Next Steps

If you're evaluating Unica for an upcoming project, here's the path we walk through with integrators:

  1. Count your zones and channels. That determines whether the 4-channel or 8-channel family fits, and how many units a larger job needs.
  2. Confirm your control platform. Q-SYS, Symetrix, and Crestron are natively supported; ask us if you're running something else.
  3. Decide if remote monitoring matters for this job. A single-room install may not need it, but a multi-building or multi-campus rollout usually benefits from MyUniverso from day one.
  4. Call SoundPro before you finalize a spec. As a certified Powersoft dealer, our Account Managers can configure a system around your existing gear and get you pricing, since Unica pricing is quote-based.

FAQ: Powersoft Unica

What makes the Powersoft Unica different from other install amplifiers?

Unica is Powersoft's third-generation fixed-install platform, built around a redesigned input and output section for the highest signal-to-noise ratio Powersoft has produced. It pairs that sound quality with cloud native connectivity through MyUniverso, combining pro-level audio performance and remote monitoring in a single compact 1RU unit.

Does Unica work with control systems like Q-SYS or Crestron?

Yes. Unica includes native third-party communication for Q-SYS, Symetrix, and Crestron, along with a dedicated Q-SYS plugin for deeper control. Its Easy Swap feature also lets a technician replace and reconfigure a unit from a USB backup in minutes, keeping service calls short.

How much power does the Unica platform deliver?

The 4-channel UNICA 4L line spans 5K4, 9K4, 12K4, and 16K4 models, and the 8-channel UNICA 8M line spans 1K8 through 8K8, with total power up to 16,000W depending on the model. Each channel can also deliver up to twice its rated power under an asymmetric load, giving flexibility to match power to an uneven speaker layout.

Is Unica a good fit for a school-wide audio upgrade?

Yes. Unica's cloud native design lets a team monitor amplifier status and manage projects remotely through MyUniverso, without walking between buildings to check on gear. Its compact 1RU size and scalable channel options work for a single classroom refresh or a full campus rollout.

Can Unica handle a large sanctuary sound system?

Yes. Unica's channel density and Power Sharing technology let a single rack unit drive a large, multi-zone room, including sustained loads down to 2 ohms per channel, with Dante and AES67 networking to keep a large sanctuary sounding consistent throughout.
