EV SOLUTIONS

Electro-Voice brings a strong installed sound lineup to InfoComm 2026. The redesigned EVF G2 and EVH G2 point-source loudspeakers arrive with new in-house transducers, low-loss crossovers, and flat-phase FIR preset support, covering venues from performing arts centers to stadiums. For clean, discreet coverage in installed environments, the LRC Line Radiator Column family delivers even, room-filling sound with a slim profile and built-in 70V/100V transformer support. Tying it all together, the Dynacord IX Series amplifiers bring 4- and 8-channel networked DSP in a compact 1U form factor, and are purpose-matched to EVF and EVH G2 for optimized peak voltage handling and bi-amp flexibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What amplifier do I need to drive the EVH 15 G2?

The EVH 15 G2 is a passive speaker with an 8Ω impedance and handles up to 400W continuous (800W program), so you'll need an external amplifier that can deliver adequate clean power at 8Ω. For most professional applications, we recommend pairing it with an amplifier in the 500–800W range at 8Ω with built-in DSP or DriveRack processing. Contact our team for a matched amplifier recommendation based on your specific venue and coverage pattern.

  • Can the IX30:8 be used without a Dante network, for example in a purely analog setup?

Yes. The IX30:8 supports analog operation independently of Dante. All 8 mic/line inputs can accept analog signals directly, and the amplifier's onboard DSP processes audio locally without requiring a network connection. Dante connectivity is an added capability, not a requirement, making this unit viable as a conventional DSP amplifier with the option to integrate into a networked system later.

  • What's the difference between the indoor and outdoor versions of the EVH 15 G2?

The outdoor and fully weatherized variants carry an IP55 rating per IEC 60529, meaning they're protected against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction making them suitable for covered outdoor installations and marine environments. The indoor version is not weather-sealed and is intended for climate-controlled spaces. If your install has any exposure to moisture, humidity, or direct elements, the outdoor or fully weatherized model is the appropriate choice.

  • What happens to audio routing and control if both mains power and PoE fail simultaneously?

The PoE ghostPOWER feature keeps the DSP, Dante network, and mic/line inputs active during a mains power failure, but only as long as PoE is available on the primary RJ45 port. If both mains power and the PoE source fail at the same time, the amplifier will lose all functionality including DSP and signal routing. For mission-critical installations, this means the PoE source itself (typically a PoE switch) should be backed by a UPS to ensure full ghostPOWER protection.

  • Can the EVH 15 G2 be used as a stage monitor?

The EVH 15 G2 is designed primarily as a front-of-house point source loudspeaker for short- to medium-throw applications, not as a wedge monitor. Its cabinet geometry, coverage patterns (ranging from 40°×30° to 90°×90°), and mounting options are optimized for audience coverage rather than on-stage fill. For monitor applications, Electro-Voice offers dedicated floor monitor solutions better suited to that use case.

  • Does the IX30:8 require SONICUE software for day-to-day operation, or is it needed only for initial setup?

SONICUE is primarily a configuration and management tool, not a runtime dependency. Once the amplifier has been programmed and its DSP settings saved to onboard memory, it will operate independently without SONICUE running. The built-in TaskEngine can also handle local automation and scheduling on its own. That said, SONICUE (or a third-party OCA/AES70 controller) is needed for real-time remote monitoring, parameter changes, or advanced system integration after deployment.
