The AtlasIED GLOBALCOM PoE Amplifier with CobraNet is a compact power amplifier module engineered for distributed audio installations where reliable, network-managed amplification is required close to the speaker zone. Designed for systems integrators deploying GLOBALCOM paging and intercom infrastructures, this module eliminates the need for separate power infrastructure by drawing up to 13 watts from standard IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet — or from an external +48VDC supply when PoE is unavailable. CobraNet audio networking provides deterministic, low-latency audio transport over standard Ethernet, making it a dependable choice for commercial AV, campus, healthcare, and government facility installations.
Configuration and routing are handled entirely through the GLOBALCOM System Management Center, with settings retained in non-volatile memory so zone programming survives power cycling without manual reconfiguration. The module integrates fully with the IED GLOBALCOM vACS virtual audio control system, enabling centralized management of distributed amplifier deployments. Onboard LED indicators provide at-a-glance status for power, signal presence, clipping, and thermal overload conditions — critical feedback for technicians maintaining systems in remote equipment closets or ceiling plenum spaces.
The enclosure supports both DIN rail and panel or wall mounting, giving installers the flexibility to place the amplifier directly within the speaker zone's local closet or rack space. This proximity-based deployment strategy reduces cable runs and simplifies zone isolation, making the module a practical alternative to centralized amplifier racks in multi-zone distributed audio systems.
