The AtlasIED IPS-SIS is a SIP-enabled indoor wall mount strobe designed for facility engineers, AV integrators, and IT managers who need to extend visual emergency notification across enterprise networks without a separate dedicated paging infrastructure. By registering directly as a SIP endpoint, the IPS-SIS integrates into existing unified communications platforms, eliminating the need for proprietary controllers or parallel wiring runs.
In practice, the IPS-SIS activates and begins blinking when it receives an inbound SIP call or a configured multicast RTP stream, then stops automatically when the broadcast ends. This behavior makes it well-suited for corporate campuses, healthcare facilities, education institutions, transportation hubs, industrial facilities, and houses of worship — any environment where ambient noise levels or spatial scale make audio-only alerting insufficient. Cisco SRST support ensures the device remains operational as a survivable endpoint even during WAN outages, a critical requirement for emergency notification systems where infrastructure failure and alert demand may coincide.
Compared to standalone strobe units that require dedicated control panels, the IPS-SIS leverages the existing WAN/LAN architecture and is powered entirely via PoE 802.3af, simplifying deployment and reducing installation cost. Five user-defined blink scenes, adjustable brightness up to 90 candela, and an on-board event-controlled relay give integrators the flexibility to tailor behavior to specific facility zones and compliance requirements.
