The Atlona HW-LUMA-E4211 is an H.264 and H.265 networked AV encoder built for systems integrators and AV engineers who need high-density, scalable video distribution over standard Gigabit Ethernet infrastructure. H.265 encoding allows up to 50 simultaneous 4K streams over a single Gigabit link, making it the right choice for large-venue digital signage, corporate campus distribution, and higher education deployments where bandwidth headroom is limited. H.264 with RTMP support extends the unit into live production and broadcast workflows, enabling direct streaming to platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Wowza without an external encoder or transcode stage.
For installed AV applications, the HW-LUMA-E4211 pairs directly with HW-LUMA-D4111 decoders in a managed LumaStream distribution system, with simplified multicast configuration handled through pre-assigned IP addresses. Dante audio integration on a dedicated LAN port slots the encoder into existing AoIP infrastructures without compromising the AV network. Balanced analog audio I/O, RS-232/IR control, HDMI loop-through for local display, and open JSON API control through Velocity Device Manager give integrators the signal routing and control flexibility required for complex installs. AES-128 content encryption and IEEE 802.1X network authentication meet security requirements in government and enterprise environments covered by NDAA Section 889 compliance.
The compact fanless enclosure draws power entirely from PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), eliminating local power supplies at each encoder location and reducing installation overhead in ceiling and rack-edge deployments.
