The Blackmagic Design Videohub 120x120 12G is purpose-built for large-scale broadcast facilities, live production studios, and post environments that demand flexible, high-density routing across mixed video formats. Supporting SD, HD, and Ultra HD up to 2160p60 across all 120 inputs and 120 outputs simultaneously, it consolidates SDI infrastructure that would otherwise require complex cable management and multiple smaller routers. Engineers can route any video standard on the same matrix at the same time, making it a practical fit for facilities transitioning between HD and Ultra HD workflows without requiring a full infrastructure overhaul.
The front control panel eliminates the need for dedicated external hardware panels in tight production racks. It includes a machined metal spin knob, direct-entry shortcut buttons, and an LCD that displays both labels and live video of any router input before a route is changed. This visual routing capability is especially valuable in portable or compact equipment racks where an external SDI monitor is not practical. The router also supports Videohub Master Control Pro and Smart Control Pro hardware panels, Videohub Software Control for Mac, Windows, and iPad, and Ethernet-based remote control for integration into larger broadcast automation systems via the included free SDK.
Built-in SDI re-clocking on every input regenerates the video signal to compensate for cable-length degradation, a critical advantage over passive matrix solutions in large facilities with long cable runs. Redundant 100-240V AC power connections protect against single-supply failure during live broadcasts. Ethernet connectivity enables remote control from hardware or software panels, and the system is localized for 13 languages, supporting international broadcast and production deployments.
