The Lowell LMB Series mobile base is designed for systems integrators and installation teams who need to add caster mobility to stationary 23-inch wide rack enclosures without modifying the rack frame. The base mounts inside the rack, creating a floor flush with the lowest rack space, which makes it particularly useful when heavy amplifiers, power conditioners, or other dense equipment are loaded in the bottom positions. It is compatible with Lowell LER and LGR Series racks and is specified in permanent installations where repositioning the rack for service access or room reconfiguration is a recurring need.

Unlike bolt-together aftermarket caster plates, the LMB is fully welded from 14-gauge steel and finished in a black-wrinkle powder coat, giving it the structural rigidity to handle concentrated loads at the base of a populated rack. Side openings align with the LGR Series cable pass-through openings, and a center opening handles vertical cable management without routing cables around the base. The series is available in multiple rack depths and with a choice of caster types, allowing specifiers to match the base to both the rack dimension and the floor surface at the install site.

For installs on finished floors such as wood, marble, or tile, the fine-floor caster option uses a specialized tread designed to prevent surface damage during repositioning. Standard swivel casters are available for unfinished or industrial floor environments and offer a higher load rating. Both caster types include all hardware needed for bolt-on installation, keeping the install clean and reversible.
