The Midas DN4888 is a 1U rack-mount I/O interface built for live sound engineers who need to extend the analog connectivity of StageConnect-enabled consoles such as the Behringer WING without adding cable complexity. The unit delivers 8 balanced XLR line inputs and 8 balanced XLR line outputs, making it directly applicable to analog insert loops for outboard effects processors, integration of wireless microphone and in-ear systems, or any application demanding additional discrete analog paths at FOH or monitor world. A single standard XLR or 110-Ohm DMX cable carries up to 32 channels of uncompressed 24-bit PCM audio bi-directionally at below 0.05 ms latency, removing the need for dedicated proprietary multicore snakes for side-rack connectivity.
The DN4888 fits squarely into the DN48XX StageConnect ecosystem. Devices in the series can be daisy-chained, with the master automatically negotiating channel assignments across the chain. Total StageConnect bus capacity reaches 32 channels, supporting configurations from 32 pure inputs to 32 pure outputs or any parallel combination in between. Remote power delivery via the StageConnect link, up to 18 W from the master port, reduces local power requirements at the stage end. Dual Ultranet RJ45 outputs bridge StageConnect directly to the installed base of Behringer P16 personal monitor mixers, Turbosound iQ speakers, and other Ultranet-compatible devices, giving engineers a path to integrate existing infrastructure without replacing proven gear.
