The Q-SYS QIO-IR1x4 is designed for AV integrators and system designers who need to bridge Q-SYS networked control environments with legacy or non-networked IR-controlled devices. As the first native network IR connectivity solution for Q-SYS, it removes the dependency on local DSP I/O ports, allowing control infrastructure to be distributed cleanly across a facility without adding processing hardware at every endpoint.
In installed AV environments such as corporate conference rooms, higher education classrooms, government facilities, and broadcast control rooms, the QIO-IR1x4 enables precise placement of IR control points exactly where source devices or displays are located. The single IR receiver input captures remote commands from IR handsets or control systems, while the four configurable output ports support either IR emitter signals or RS-232 transmit, giving integrators flexibility across a broad range of controlled devices. PoE power simplifies deployment by eliminating local power runs, and daisy-chaining support for up to four QIO expanders on a single network run reduces infrastructure costs in multi-zone installations.
Integration is handled entirely within Q-SYS Designer Software, with device management available through Q-SYS Reflect. The surface- and rack-mountable form factor fits discreetly into equipment racks or mounts directly at the point of use, making it a practical choice for both retrofit projects and new installations where clean cable management and scalability are priorities.
