The RCF PL 82EN is an EN54-24 certified two-way ceiling speaker built specifically for life-safety and mass notification installations where audio intelligibility during a fire event is a code-driven requirement. The coaxial driver configuration and 160-degree coverage angle make it well suited to corridor, lobby, and open-plan ceiling grids where consistent speech intelligibility at listener level is critical. The 94 dB system sensitivity and selectable wattage taps allow integrators to balance zone coverage and system loading across large distributed 100V networks without additional attenuation hardware.
Where the PL 82EN separates itself from standard commercial ceiling speakers is in its fire-rated construction. The flameproof steel back can and frame, ceramic input and output terminal blocks, and internal flameproof cable leads are all designed to maintain line continuity when ambient temperatures rise during a fire. A thermal fuse provides an additional layer of protection for the signal line. These design choices align the speaker with EN54-24 requirements, giving AV integrators and system designers the documentation and CPR certification number needed for compliant public-address and voice-alarm system submittals.
Recessed installation into standard ceiling panels is straightforward, and the steel grille and white RAL 9016 finish suit commercial interior aesthetics. A ground screw is available on the enclosure when the installation requires it. RCF lists compatibility with the DXT 3000, DXT 4000, and DXT 7000 amplifier platforms, simplifying system design for integrators already working within the RCF installed-sound ecosystem.
