The sE Electronics T1 Matched-Pair delivers two factory-tuned cardioid condensers designed for professional live sound and studio applications where consistency and transient accuracy matter. Built on the proven architecture of the acclaimed T2, the T1 strips away variable polar patterns to focus exclusively on the cardioid mode—the most common choice for touring and installed sound. Each microphone is rigorously tested and sonically matched in-house to guarantee virtually identical frequency response, making the pair ideal for stereo overhead arrays, drum overheads, hi-hat spots, and orchestral string sections where phase coherence and balanced imaging are critical.
The hand-crafted twin 1" titanium-sputtered brass capsule defines the T1's character. Titanium's superior stiffness and lightweight properties enable faster capsule response than traditional materials, translating to precise attack definition on snare drums, cymbals, hand percussion, bass guitar cabinets, and acoustic instruments. The all-metal die-cast housing, metal switches, and spring steel mesh grille withstand daily touring wear, while the integrated 80/160 Hz low-cut filter and switchable -10/-20 dB attenuation pad provide necessary control for proximity effect and high-SPL sources. Maximum SPL ratings reach 157 dB with full pad engagement, accommodating even the loudest drums and amplified instruments without distortion.
Each matched pair arrives complete with two custom shockmounts, stereo bar, dual connectors via 3-pin male XLR, and protective metal case. The innovative suspension design allows centered capsule placement within the shock, flat orientation against drum heads or cabinets, and effective isolation from low-frequency rumble—essential for clean overhead captures in loud live venues.
