The Sennheiser BA 70 2.2 is an updated rechargeable battery designed for professional wireless microphone systems including EW-D, EW-DP, EW-DX, and Spectera platforms. The increased capacity delivers longer operating time per charge without changing the physical footprint, making it a direct swap for existing battery slots and chargers.

Production engineers and touring audio techs managing multi-channel wireless rigs benefit from the gray housing, which makes it straightforward to distinguish BA 70 2.2 cells from the original black BA 70 during quick battery swaps at changeovers. Both versions remain fully supported on shared charger infrastructure, provided firmware requirements are met on L 6000, CHG 70N, and CHG 70N-C units.

Beginning August 2026, Sennheiser is phasing the BA 70 2.2 into new production sets. During the transition window, product bundles may ship with either revision depending on manufacturing date and retailer stock. Both are compatible across the same supported system lineup, giving engineers flexibility regardless of which revision is in the case.
