This professional condenser boundary plate mic delivers a full-bodied response and is capable of handling extremely high sound pressure levels (SPLs). Its 20Hz-20kHz frequency response means it will provide full-bodied reproduction of voice and music. Therefore, it’s a great miking choice for a wide range of applications, such as on stage, in studios, and at the conference table.
A rugged member of Sennheiser’s professional-grade Evolution series, the e901 features a pre-polarized half-cardioid boundary layer condenser, which lets it expertly capture low-frequency instruments such as bass drums or kick drums. The resulting sound is precise, fast, and realistic. Other possible miking situations include podiums at conferences and presentations, altars in churches and other houses of worship, and instrumental miking for pianos and percussion.
The e901 does not require a stand to get it placed perfectly. Its slip-free rubber pad underneath ensures it will stay put. Due to its standard XLR plug, no adaptor cable is needed, further streamlining its set-up so you can get past the installation aspects and focus on the project at hand.
